Betty Lambie has had a lifelong passion for creativity, though for many years there was little time to devote to painting. In 1972, she moved to Dulnain Bridge with her husband, David, and their two young children to help pursue his dream of building a heather nursery. The business grew into the Speyside Centre, which is now run by their sons, Craig and Iain.
Creativity found its way into Betty’s working life through necessity, resourcefulness, and a talent for upcycling and recycling as the business developed. It was not until retiring at the age of 79 that she could finally give more time to her deepest creative passion.
Since then, Betty has embraced the freedom to explore an eclectic range of subjects, including landscapes, animals, surreal ideas, and playful projects. Each piece is made with joy and gratitude for the opportunity—and the health—to pursue the dream she had carried for so long.
