I painted this field of white blooms to depict a quiet, late-afternoon moment — soft peach sky over a carpet of energetic flowers with starburst-like petals and warm ochre centers. Thick palette-knife gestures and loose brushwork give the surface a tactile, layered feel, while earthy greens and rust tones ground the composition. The overall mood is light and easy, like a short walk through a wild patch of daisies. A relaxed piece that would make a lovely focal point in a living room, hallway, or office.

  • Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp resistant.
  • Vibrant, long-lasting colors with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.
  • Solid wooden frame from renewable sources, 4 cm deep.

Artist: Ian Williams

Ian Williams BA (Hons) is a fine artist originally from North Wales, where his early connection to the natural world first began to take shape. After completing his Fine Art degree in 2001, he relocated to the Isle of Skye, a move that proved pivotal in deepening his appreciation for the raw beauty of wildlife and untamed landscapes.

Ian’s work is rooted in direct experience. He draws inspiration from moments of genuine encounter—whether observing wildlife, exploring sweeping landscapes, or absorbing the ever-changing moods of the sea. These lived interactions form the foundation of his artistic practice.

With a focus on simplicity of form, Ian seeks to capture fleeting moments in time, distilling his subjects to their essential qualities. This restrained approach invites the viewer to engage more actively with the work, allowing space for personal interpretation and imagination.

Now based in the Abernethy Forest, Ian continues to immerse himself in his surroundings, using his art as a means of exploration and reflection. His work remains a quiet dialogue between observation and expression, shaped by the natural world that continues to inspire him.
