Graham Moore is a self-taught artist whose work is deeply inspired by the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, where he has lived for the past 15 years. Originally from Glasgow, Graham made the move north in search of tranquillity, finding endless creative inspiration in the region’s dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife.
His artistic journey has been one of exploration and evolution. Beginning with oil painting, he later turned to highly detailed pencil work before experimenting with pencil combined with watercolour. Today, he primarily works with acrylics, embracing the versatility of the medium while continuing to refine his distinctive style. This willingness to experiment reflects his passion for growth and discovery as an artist.
Graham’s work focuses on capturing the magnificence of Highland forests, with a particular fascination for the intricate details of leaves, branches, and natural textures. He is equally drawn to the challenge of portraying Highland wildlife, striving to bring both precision and character to his subjects.
Having balanced his creative pursuits alongside a career in Scottish tourism, Graham has dedicated much of his life to painting in his spare time. Now recently retired, he looks forward to devoting more time to his art, developing new techniques, and expanding his body of work.
Through his paintings, Graham hopes to share the beauty and spirit of the Highlands, inviting others to appreciate the landscapes and wildlife that continue to inspire him.
