This playful portrait presents a small long-haired terrier crowned with a cheerful pink bow. Warm chestnut and amber tones are layered with lively brushwork to suggest a soft, tousled coat, while bright highlights in the eyes and nose give the face a curious, soulful look. The loose edges and textured washes keep the mood relaxed and personable—like a quick, affectionate sketch from a sunny afternoon. A friendly piece that would make a lovely addition to a living room, hallway, or any spot that could use a little canine cheer.

  • Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp resistant.
  • Vibrant, long-lasting colors with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.
  • Solid wooden frame from renewable sources, 4 cm deep.

Artist: Julia Stuart

Julia Stuart is a wildlife and pet artist based in Grantown on Spey in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Surrounded by the landscapes and creatures that inspire her daily life, Julia creates expressive, characterful portraits that celebrate the spirit of the animals she paints.
Working with opaque, metallic and watercolour paints, alongside fine pen and pencil, Julia builds each piece through delicate layers and intricate detail. Her mixed-media approach allows her to capture texture, light and movement while bringing warmth and personality to every subject.
Growing up on a farm and immersed in nature from an early age, Julia developed a deep love and respect for wildlife. That connection continues to shape her work today. She is passionate about portraying not just the likeness of an animal, but its unique character — the spark in the eye, the tilt of the head, the quiet humour or gentle strength that makes each one individual.
“I enjoy trying to capture the animal’s characteristics and personality. Growing up on a farm surrounded by nature has inspired and influenced my love of painting. Wildlife is really important to me and I do believe these characters have their own wee souls.”
Through her art, Julia invites you to pause, smile, and connect with the humour and beauty in each piece. She hopes you enjoy exploring the collection and find something special in your chosen print.
